I live in the city of Atlanta, about 10 minutes from downtown. Humanity has reshaped the entire landscape of the area in very dramatic ways, which can sometimes seem discouraging as I think about the future of the environment, but I always notice the abundant wildlife all around city and even in my own backyard. It's encouraging to see that nature has adapted to urban living in conditions and amongst the human clutter, and it is my hope (and while perhaps naive) that nature will continue to evolve and hopefully even thrive as the world continues to change. After all, animals have roamed the earth far longer than mankind has, and will probably be here way after we have departed.
